Telma Lannoo (*Bruges, BE,1993) makes visual work in which drawing forms the foundation. The drawing is more often a starting point than an ending point. The initial sketch is further interpreted until it takes its final form. Inspired by the environment in which she grew up, between the fabric and ink rollers, she investigates ways to make her drawings tactile.
The use of materials such as fabric and yarns, but also techniques from the textile world, are starting to interweave with drawing. They have graphical restrictions that force her to come up with solutions and thus influence the way of drawing. The grid is an important structure within which she can place and move again and again. A way to find order in chaos.
